Profile of the Digital Humanities lab
The "Digital Humanities Lab" (previously Imaging & Media lab (iml)) is a research institute of the faculty of Humanities of the University of Basel. The research profile of the dhLab is centered around the field of "Digital Humanities" at the intersection of computer science, digital imaging, digital photograph and the Humanities. The research mainly concentrates on the different aspects of "digital sources" and their use in Humanities with the following topics:
- Genesis / Digitization
- Use / Crosslinking
- Archiving / long-term preservation / Sustainability of digital information
At the center of the research is the development of new tools and methods as well as the reflection about the implications of these to humanities' research.
